Corps critique et mémoire / Critical Body and Memory (1987–1995)
In this second cycle, the body becomes the center of a more explicit inquiry into the relationship between image, experience, and memory. Photography is used to explore how traces of embodied experience are deposited within visual forms.
The images from this period shift the gaze toward a more introspective dimension. The body appears as a site where personal memory and cultural representations intersect, revealing tensions between vulnerability, identity, and the social gaze.
The work also questions the modes through which photographic images are constructed and how these constructions participate in shaping narratives of the body.
This cycle deepens the investigation into the inscription of experience within the image and into the forms of memory that photography can render visible.
